Don’t let your pain control you.
The increasingly demanding medical economics for the pain population has created a variety of problems for the practitioner, carrier, and most importantly the patient.
The multi-dimensional perspective is the way to go. This requires not only analysis of the physical but also psychological and social factors that collectively affect a patient.
These psychological and social factors, that if undetected, can significantly interfere with a patient’s response to treatment.
Our aim is to help unity identify the psychological obstacles that may undermine a patient from improving.
It is important to know which patient will benefit from specific treatments along with documentation for the insurance company. We can provide objective evidence of treatment effectiveness.
Our examination can help practitioners, patients and insurance companies with:
- A patient's psychological profile, with physical findings, before designing a treatment plan or pre-surgical intervention.
- Tracking outcomes in terms of interventions.
- Intervention pain medicine, physical rehabilitation, multi-disciplinary pain programs, pre-surgical evaluations, Worker’s Compensation, disability evaluations, and IMEs.
- BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE PAIN CONSULTATION - This is the lowest intensity of intervention, which addresses a patient’s fear/avoidance beliefs about their pain through education, and advice regarding the importance of returning to activities of daily living as soon as possible.
- BEHAVIORAL PAIN EXAMINATION - An excellent means to identify a patient’s coping style, current emotional/behavioral issues, stress mediators, prognostics, predisposition to over-utilization of medical health care, receptivity to treatment, plus answers to a variety of other important questions.
- TREATMENT - This comprises medical adjustment counseling (learning to cope with their status), biofeedback (learning how to reduce pain levels), & input to a patient’s treating physician.
A patient’s treatment package is provided in an expeditious and organized manner. No voice mail, immediate feedback, concise clear recommendations, no inordinate delay in reports and a human being at the other end of our phone.
We are interested in knowing your specific needs and how we may accommodate them. For a more detailed explanation of how we can help your unique concerns contact us directly and speak to a real person (no voice recorder or electronic prompts).
