Heather A. MacLeod, M.A.


Heather graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Delaware. While there, Heather was a chair of philanthropy of the National Kidney Foundation. She also was a chair for the Delaware Undergraduate Student Congress concentrating on student opinions on the university campus. After graduation, Heather taught nursery school while she pursued her Master’s degree in psychological studies at Seton Hall University. Upon graduating, Heather treated foster children and their families and developed a training program on behavior management for other clinicians. Simultaneously, Heather worked as a consultant for the private special education school, ECLC of New Jersey implementing functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans for students. She also provided home therapy for children with autism using applied behavioral analysis. This led to an adjunct professor position at Montclair State University teaching Child Psychology and Contemporary Issues in Child Advocacy. Furthermore, Heather worked as a Service Coordinator for Morris County Special Child Health Services specializing in families having children with developmental delays. While there, she served as Chair of the family support group of Morris County organizing gatherings, information sessions and training for families involved with Early Intervention. Finally, Heather came to NRS/ LifeSpan as a biofeedback therapist and treating patients with anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, ADHD, sleep and pain disorders. In addition, she developed the Infant/Toddler Program. The goal of the program is to help families with concerns regarding their child’s development or behavior with comprehensive testing, treatment and parent counseling.
